      Twenty case studies explore the challenge of governance in Latin America, China and Europe. They were posted online by researchers, who used the platform as a working tool. Also on the site are analyses of the background of each city. Young researchers' papers retrace the history of a controversy that has aroused conflict over an urban project. What is it that drives public action on urban mobility?…

The policies of different cities can sometimes seem bizarre.In Beijing, Mexico City, São Paulo or elsewhere, the reasons behind mobility policies are multiple:economic constraints, zeitgeist, changing values, perceptions of the future, of good and bad, conflicts of interest, political opportunities or compromises, image benefits, emergencies, risk management?…At a time when the big fundamentals of public action seem to be changing, how do we decipher the mobility policies of the world’s big cities?

Thinking together

The coordinators of this research are relying on the power of collective intelligence to generate new perspectives, to open up new avenues of activity.The site offers free access to case studies in ten of the world’s great cities, discussions, scientific reports, surveys conducted with young urban designers.So you will be able to both read and comment on analyses, contribute to the debates and start new ones, watch films, look at and contribute images and multimedia material.This site is designed as a space of interaction between continents, a clearing house for ideas, a place to compare perceptions and dreams…

The results of your contributions and, more broadly, of this dialogue between society and the world of research, will be presented at an international conference in Paris in March 2012, and subsequently published.
