The IAU île-de-France: research and planning institute

The Île-de-France Institute for Urban Planning and Development is a major force in research, consulting and project work. Its 200 professionals are active in all areas of metropolitan planning and development: urban planning and development, mobility and transport, the urban and rural environment, employment and commercial property, demographics and housing, municipal facilities, etc.
The IAU île-de-France is an organisation undergoing constant development. Its system-wide, cross-topic research, ever-evolving diagnostics and its consulting work provide essential tools in public-sector decision-making. It is the leading observatory of metropolitan change in the greater Paris region and also carries out more focused studies (health, security, tourism, heritage, etc.).
For almost 50 years now, the IAU îdF has overseen or actively contributed to drawing up successive regional development plans. As a key partner of professional and academic institutions, the scope of its multi-disciplinary expertise now extends well beyond the regional level to the international stage.
